June 5, 2005 | Proverbs 26:9
Are there any rainbows in your life? Not the colorful ones, I am talking about The ones where the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow is God's love. You can choose to take it for yourself, or you can share it with others who really need the love that God can give.
There are a lot of hurting people out there, not really accomplishing the things they want to in life. Not because they do not want to, but because they do not have the ambition to follow through on something. They get caught up in the "easier said than done" syndrome. Then they slip away into complacency. Not because they want to but because they have a hard time getting out of the doldrums.
Sometimes life can be like trudging through a swamp in your pajamas. You have not boots so the slimy bog gets in between your toes. It is like a dream where you want so badly to get somewhere but can't because try as you might you just can't seem to move your body.
Micah 7:4, The best of them is like a brier; The most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge; The day of your watchman and your punishment comes; Now shall be their perplexity. NKJV
We can choose to meld with the swamp that permeates our thought processes or we can choose another road. A long narrow road with many thorns and thistles to make us falter. It will be fraught with many temptations, some to harsh to bare.
But yet we can take that road that leads to God and try to get closer to God.
I heard some time ago that the closer we get to God, the more we are tempted to go the evil away and away from the righteous road. That is a road with many forks going off in different directions that always seem to loop back around themselves and make our path a never-ending road to nowhere.
Proverbs 26:9 Like a thorn that goes into the hand of a drunkard. Is a proverb in the mouth of fools. NKJV
So instead of taking that road, choose to keep going down the good and loving path. A path to God's love and His guiding ways.
He can bless you in ways you never thought possible. He can make you path sure and true. He can do this all for the low low price of praying and asking Him for His help. That is not much to pay, especially since it doesn't cost you a single penny.
God is not concerned with how much money you have or how many mega yachts you have to ski behind. He doesn't care about the fast cars. He cares about you as a person. When it seems like nobody care about you, God does. He cares. He has written a book of His many cares. It is called the Bible. And within it's many pages are words that are written to quiet our minds and be more accepting of His love.
We can choose to give up on life. We can choose to let the swamp that may permeate our way within our own minds. Or we can choose God's love.
When you were a child you may have used a swing to take you up and back, up and back, up and back. Think of the swing as going to God every time you swing forward. So swing up to God. Visualize that swing going up into the arms of God so that you may seek the salvation that God gives so freely to people that ask for it.
Do not let let another day go by without the guidance of God being on your mind throughout the day. Pray as often as you can. Give God your time, and He will give you treasures like no other. And don't forget to thank Him for all your many blessings.
Prayer: Dear Lord, bless me today and help me not to falter by going down the evil path. If I start going down that path, snap me out of it so that the only reality that will make sense to me is the one that involves Your love and Your Guidance. I thank you Lord for all your many blessings. Amen.
Benediction: Now, Lord, Bless us in our daily lives. Help us to smell the roses whenever possible, to shine our light on those less fortunate than us, and lead us in the path we should go. For you are the light that keeps our path well lit. Help us to follow it, until we meet you, in a land where milk and honey abound, a place where our most wonderful dreams are fulfilled. Amen.
Hi, my name is Bryan, a messenger of hope who would love to hear from you. God Bless.
