Seeing The Creation Of God
October 17, 2004 | Link To Us | Index | This sermon is for your spiritual edification and to spread a little hope and cheer. Deuteronomy 1:32 I have this game program for my computer where you can design your own amusement parks and can build roller coasters track-by-track. It is interesting all the limitless possibilities in that you could conceivably build a different roallercoaster every time, with not two alike. You can also place other rides and food and drink stalls in different areas as well as raise or lower the land and build rollercoaster by tunelling underground and through hills and/or mountains. There are so many things you can do with a computer. You can write, such as I am doing with writing these sermons and you could write short stories as well as novels. You can do a spreadsheet showing your budgets for the coming year. You can ballance a checkbook, or read an on-line newspaper. You can do all this if you have the computer and software and the time to devote to these tasks. You can do so many things, create so many situations. So taking all this into consideration, why are you bored? Now maybe you are not bored right now, but there must have times when you felt bored and couldn't figure out how to get yourself out of the doldrums. There are so many things to do in this world. We can read about nature. We can go for a walk and observe nature. We can get out of our stump of self-absorbption ad really try to see the word for what it is. Do you ever wonder why you were put on this planet? I am sure all of us have thought about that at one time or another. We were put on this planet for a reason ans sometimes that reason is not always apparent.. But yet there is a reason. ANd noo matter how much that reason eludes us, we can find our place in the world through a lasting relationship with God. God holds the key to our destiny. He gives us the light of day to guide us on life's journey. He let's us know every day how much He loves us. He does it with the swaying of the trees in the wind. He does it with the light of day with the sun breaking the clouds after a earth refreshing rain. He does it every time we pray and answers our prayer in ways we may not comprehend. The key to life is not how much money you end up with when you die. Or the amount of toys you have acquired. It is in the love that you have received from God and have shared with others. Prayer: Dear Lord, Help me to realize how much you love me, or at least to some extent. Guide me in the coming week to get to know you more and more and to reach out to you when I need your help and your guidance. I thank you for all your many blessings. Amen. Benediction: Now, Lord, Bless us in our daily lives. Help us to smell the roses whenever possible, to shine our light on those less fortunate than us, and lead us in the path we should go. For you are the light that keeps our path well lit. Help us to follow it, until we meet you, in a land where milk and honey abound, a place where our most wonderful dreams are fulfilled. Amen. Hi, my name is Bryan, a messenger of hope who would love to hear from you. God Bless. © 2004 Bryan Hill Feedback in Response to this Sermon |
