Index What is about life that troubles you the most? What is the one thing that makes your stomach churn and make you want to vomit? Is it politics, or world affairs, or that a lot of people lie? Or maybe it is something that you wished you could control but can't? Unfortunately there are things and events in our lives that are unavoidable and so we may spend time in paranoia awaiting the inevitable. But living this way is not really living. It does not put bread and butter on the table. It doesn't pay the bills. There is nothing to gain from this kind of paranoia. But yet we think these ways anyway, worrying about this or that. In Matthew 6:34 we read, "So don't be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time." TLB Live one day at a time. This does not mean we can not plan for the future. Proverbs 21:20 The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets. TLB So if we are living one day at a time, then why save for the future? We need to save for future, not out of fear, but out of a sense of self-preservation. Money for the future will help us to live knowing that we worked hard. But we need to work harder and in so doing help define ourselves. We all need to make a contribution to future society so that we may all live on this planet in peaceful coexistence. But in order to preserve peace we need to pray to God often and ask Him for guidance, because without it we are nothing. We are not even a leaf in a world of trees. But with God in our hearts we can be the greatest of trees if only we set our minds to it. So it is important to not let the anguish over what another person has done to us get the best of us. We shall not let our anger trouble us. Every day we see in the news about this person murdering that person or the rape of a teenager, or the robbing of a bank. We hear of people taking advantage of others all for the sake of popping a pill in their mouths that will give them yet another high, only to fall short of everything a person should work towards in their lives. They have gone to the dark side. They have given up to the wicked nature that permeates society in ways we may never fully comprehend. But then if we were to comprehend it in some small way, it would just make us even more confused and hence a need to make things work out. God can help humans work things out. He can be the rock. He is our rock, no matter what we may think and feel. He helps us stay together even when there is a temptation to break away and follow the darkness into the abyss. Psalms 37:8-9 "Stop your anger! Turn off your wrath. Don't fret and worry-it only leads to harm. 9 For the wicked shall be destroyed, but those who trust the Lord shall be given every blessing." TLB So where to do we find shelter from this storm? We can find it in our hearts. We can find it in a lasting relationship with God. Sometimes it so hard to let go of the anger. We delude ourselves into thinking that somehow it helps our situation in life. But that is foolishness. It is a fools folly to ignore the love of God and follow a pursuit that they think they will profit from but will only make them dig themselves even deeper into the abyss. So don't let others anger you. Don't let them have that power over you. And most of all pray for Gods guidance. Because though His love you can find the peace that you have searched for all your life. Prayer: Dear Lord, Help me to seek your guidance often. Help me to get out of the abyss and into the light of your love, Lord. You have given me life, also please help remove the anger and the pain. Help me to face this world with the armor of your guidance and understanding. I thank you for all your many blessings and answers to prayer. Amen. Benediction: Now, Lord, Bless us in our daily lives. Help us to smell the roses whenever possible, to shine our light on those less fortunate than us, and lead us in the path we should go. For you are the light that keeps our path well lit. Help us to follow it, until we meet you, in a land where milk and honey abound, a place where our most wonderful dreams are fulfilled. Amen.
